Water Pressure System, Trickle System
How does it work? Water trickles from well at a lower flow rate into a large water grade storage tank. A secondary pump delivers the water from the storage tank through the house on demand. As water is used, fresh water is “trickled” into the tank.
Instead of a pump delivering water directly to a pressure tank that supplies your house, the trickle system has two pumps, each part of the two different sides of the system. The first side draws water from your well whenever it’s available around the clock. This water is stored in an enclosed holding tank

Pressure Tank – If it appears that a bladder tank is not operating correctly, check the tank’s air charge:
1. Disconnect electrical power to the pump.
2. Drain the tank by opening the closest faucet.
3. Check the tank’s pressure by placing an air pressure gauge on the air charging valve on the top of the tank.
Short cycling of a water pump which is defined at SHORT CYCLING WATER PUMP means that the water pump or “well pump” turns on and off too rapidly or too frequently when water is being run in the building. … The most-common cause of pump short-cycling is loss of air in the water pressure tank.
Properly maintained, a storage tank can last 25 years or more, though they’re generally warranted for five years. Without proper maintenance, if the air charge in the tank drops significantly, the water tank bladder can stretch and rupture and will likely take the pump with it.
